Science Fiction "浮遊要塞" ("The Floating Fortress")
#11
Heehee, yes I agree: Some cool stuff, some funny and some outright weird Big Grin

The setting is allied prison involving exquisit subspace communicator and chaotic starship. Your quest is to kidnap the silicoid driver at the renegade megalith. Trying to stop you is the sensitive skilled in psichometry. You are currently at the cyborg metropolis.

Setting is bandit destroyer involving above average light armor and military headquarters.

Likable chieftain who is as strong as you and whose motivation is to progress prosperity, patronize contraband, and access the forsaken; who speaks of hostile promise and is focused on your retainers.

Escort the android professor to the industrial network.

Independent monk.

Camouflaged observatory.

Cyborg.

Serum.

Leadership.

The Cyborg metropolis! 'Meklar'! (I decide it's the same people like that guy at the pyramid.)
A psychometrist as our enemy - rather nice, I shall say. Hope this guy's gonna do something this time - not like the others.

Before we start - what about that ship we got last time: What is it like?

Demilitarized armada.

K, they had a couple ships, but they weren't armed. K. Is it the chaotic one?

(50/50 | 5[d10]) No, but...

It's a bit chaotic too. Maybe it has some quirks - rather charming I shall say. ^_^ We also remember it was rather good. Also we know of the whereabouts of a whole armada that most probably got deserted. Might be able to use those ships later or sell a couple of them.

So, where's that monolith?

Create / Dreams.

That's probably rather what it does. (meant to ask that too)
Is it very far away?

(50/50 | 10[d10]) Yes, and...

Hard to get there too.

Let's talk to that chieftain. Does he know anything?
Why is he talking about retainers? Does the kid get wear his retainers? He's probably making fun of him. ^_^

We're at his military headquarter - a war ship floating high above that shimmering metropolis.

They gave me some nice armor too and ask me to take some Meklar professor some place. Also, there's that monk. As I try to improve my Martial Arts skill I decide he's my new trainer. Also, he's a monkey-oid. /'Monkey-style' anybody??? Big Grin)

Btw: XPs!!!

3 = 3[d5]

4 = 4[d5]

That light armor - as this is a cyborg planet: Do we rock it gundam style?

(50/50 | 9[d10]) Yes.

Nice! ^_^

So, what does he know about that megalith? Like, anything?

(50/50 | 9[d10]) Yes.

We had a special event before we changed it. Someone committed a crime. What happened? Did something get stolen? What was it?

Alien artifact.

K, that was some kind of map to the megalith. Not so good (I just quickly made assumptions based on what I deleted.)
(And yes, I know there's an 'undo' button for 'clear last' right beside it ;p)

Maybe the psychometric. Maybe they asked him to touch it to find stuff out about it?

(Very Likely | 10[d10]) Yes, and...

Now maybe something he saw made him steal it? Is he now under the control of some entity?

(Very Likely | 10[d10]) Yes, and...

It doesn't want us to know where the megalith is.

Let's try to get him!

19 = 1[d4]+2[d4]+3[d4]+4[d8]+1+7[d8]+1

Probably plus a bonus for the powered armor.

Still - we know how things work on TV:
Do we get him?

(Very Unlikely | 2[d10]) No.

See?

What now? How did he escape?

Waste / Travel.

Waste disposal system. Quite a lot to 'read' for a psychometrist ... heeheehee

SO, let's get after hi! Good I wear that armor! (And kids love to play with dirt, anyway)

Subterranean sphere.

On the planet?

(Likely | 2[d10]) No.

On another planet?

(Somewhat Unlikely | 7[d10]) Yes, but...

Beneath it - yes, I got it. (So they beam their rubbish to another planet, where it's stored in a subterranean sphere. Probably so it'll become humus?

(Likely | 10[d10]) Yes, and...

It stinks!

Good I'm wearing that mask (poor boy! Probably even enjoys it <_<)

So, do we see him? (Btw, the monk and the android from last episode are here too)

(Unlikely | 2[d10]) No.

I use my scanners.

13 = 4[d4]+2[d4]+3[d4]+4[d4]

"K, think I found him - let's get there!" (Thinking about it - we should probably all wear powered armor / mini gundam suits)

Ambush / The spiritual.

The monk gets ambushed! By whom?

Maniac.

Is that maniac - in fact - very, very skilled in Martial Arts? Or is he a mere distraction?
Oh, scrap that - of course random mad people are Martial Artists when a monk is involved ... /Silly me ^_^)

Sooo, how good is he? Very good?

(50/50 | 6[d10]) Yes, but...

Not that good, though.

Okay, let's try out that combat system again. After it became a bit cumbersome last time, I decided to use the 'resisted task' mechanic with initiative being with whoever has more successlevels. Same successlevels means it got evaded (Thanks to M. for that one!) where the person with the higher roll is the attacker.

Monkey san has a skill of d10, which is rather high but not through the roof. Maniac monk mmm ... cookies got d8

Dex? High? Like - very high?

(50/50 | 2[d10]) No.

d8 then. And the other one?

(50/50 | 2[d10]) No.

So both have a dex of d8.

9 = 2[d4]+2[d4]+3[d4]+1[d8]+1[d10]

14 = 2[d4]+1[d4]+2[d4]+1[d8]+8[d10]

Oh, and a bonus for the powered armor - high?

(50/50 | 3[d10]) No.

2 = 2[d2]

Is is acrobatis skill higher than his dex?

(50/50 | 6[d10]) Yes, but...

*acrobatics

no bonus from the suit. d10

(50/50 | 8[d10]) Yes.

He hits him with a jump kick.

(4 = 4[d20]) Negligible: Nick/Scratch/Bruise.

21 = 4[d4]+4[d4]+4[d4]+3[d8]+6[d8]

13 = 1[d4]+2[d4]+1[d4]+6[d8]+1[d10]+2

Then proceeds with a 'hurricane of kicks'.

19 = 2[d4]+4[d4]+2[d4]+6[d8]+5[d8]

19 = 3[d4]+3[d4]+1[d4]+1[d8]+9[d10]+2

A 'one inch punch', but the monky manages to evase it. (Oh, and damage from last attack)

(1 = 1[d20]) Negligible: Nick/Scratch/Bruise.

21 = 4[d4]+1[d4]+1[d4]+8[d8]+7[d8]

15 = 2[d4]+2[d4]+1[d4]+7[d8]+1[d10]+2

'Back kick'!

(2 = 2[d20]) Negligible: Nick/Scratch/Bruise.

18 = 3[d4]+1[d4]+4[d4]+2[d8]+8[d8]

27 = 4[d4]+4[d4]+4[d4]+7[d8]+6[d10]+2

Finally, with his 'iron palm' our monk gets back at him!

(12 = 12[d20]) Moderate Injury: Hampers action significantly; will require first aid/medical attention.

We know, he's a madman - but will he give up?

(50/50 | 5[d10]) No, but...

His actions are significantly hampered.

18 = 2[d4]+3[d4]+4[d4]+5[d8]+4[d8]

18 = 2[d4]+3[d4]+1[d4]+3[d8]+7[d10]+2

1 = 1[d2]

Still manages to evade his 'blind strike' with a 'great leap'!

14 = 2[d4]+3[d4]+2[d4]+2[d8]+5[d8]

20 = 3[d4]+3[d4]+3[d4]+6[d8]+3[d10]+2

A 'kick'!

(11 = 11[d20]) Minor Injury: Largely superficial; painful and distracting, but not life threatening.

17 = 4[d4]+3[d4]+2[d4]+4[d8]+4[d8]

15 = 3[d4]+3[d4]+4[d4]+1[d8]+4[d10]

He hits the monk with an 'iron fist'!

(17 = 17[d20]) Severe Injury: Incapacitating and may become Critical if untreated.

Because of the armor it's not that bad, but it's still bad.

21 = 4[d4]+4[d4]+2[d4]+2[d4]+6[d8]+1+2

16 = 3[d4]+2[d4]+4[d4]+1[d8]+6[d8]

I open with a 'back kick'!

(15 = 15[d20]) Moderate Injury: Hampers action significantly; will require first aid/medical attention.

Does he have enough now? (Oh, we forgot his malus!)

(50/50 | 8[d10]) Yes.

Okay, can we get anything out of him?

(50/50 | 7[d10]) Yes.

Disrupt / War.

He was fighting in a war, when he suddenly got transported here?

(50/50 | 10[d10]) Yes, and...

Now he's a bit confused. Poor guy. Let's tend to their wounds.
1st aid high?

(50/50 | 10[d10]) Yes, and...

A bonus. Some Medipack or something I suppose. d6?

(50/50 | 8[d10]) Yes.

16 = 2[d4]+4[d4]+4[d4]+2[d6]+4[d4]

15 = 3[d4]+2[d4]+2[d4]+6[d6]+2[d4]

Looks good!

What now?

Refuse / Expectations.

SO the psychometrist probably got away?

(Very Likely | 6[d10]) Yes.

So, let's try to get out of here. If they beam their rubbish here they can probably be contacted:

(Very Likely | 6[d10]) Yes.

Can they transport us back?

(Very Likely | 8[d10]) Yes.

Let's first try to find out where the psychometrist went. Anything?

16 = 3[d4]+1[d4]+4[d4]+4[d4]+4[d4]

Armored matrix.

It's some kind of drop ship from 'Halo' We don't have a ship - or is it ... ? *dundundunnn*

(50/50 | 5[d10]) No, but...

Excitement / Anger.

Power pack.

A power pack. And he lost it.

(Somewhat Likely | 7[d10]) Yes.

K, let's get back so those guys can go and see a doctor. Also, we give the power pack to some other psychometrist.

Guild pyramid.

The psychometrists' guild? Probably from his past then.

(Very Likely | 9[d10]) Yes. +Event: Overindulge / Benefits

The monk starts teaching me the 'drunken monkey' technique. Also, he's drunk.

Nevermind - that sillic driver won't kidnap himself - where's dat megalith at?
Any calls?

(Somewhat Unlikely | 1[d10]) No, and...

We might not have much time?

(50/50 | 7[d10]) Yes.

Abuse / Art.

I get drunk and practice 'drunken monkey' style with the monk.

When we get sober again - we're at:

Uncharted network.

Some long forgotten sewer system? Even better - some kind of slip stream network (I think from Star Trek?)

What else?

Dark depot.

We are at the 'dark depot' anyone here?

(50/50 | 8[d10]) Yes.

Cautious female telepath.

Oh, a telepath. Maybe she can help us. We'll have to win her trust first, though.

8 = 1[d4]+1[d4]+1[d4]+1[d4]+4[d6]

Oh, what a petty. -_-

So she probably won't help us.

(Very Likely | 9[d10]) Yes.

What do they have here though?

Exquisit schematics.

Will she still sell something to us?

(Unlikely | 6[d10]) No, but...

We could steal something - I could try and hack into their computer but decide otherwise, so we may be able to win her trust later.

Let's move on then. What now?

Shimmering outpost.

A shimmering outpost. Who's here?

Humble salesman.

K, what does he sell?

Above average toxin.

K <_<

Let's buy some 'poison' then - maybe it's just alcohol.

Maybe a bar! 0.0

Let's ask him if he could help us buying a map from the telepath

(50/50 | 3[d10]) No.

Does he himself sell maps?

(50/50 | 3[d10]) No.

But information. Does he know where that megalith is?

(50/50 | 8[d10]) Yes.

Nice! ^_^

As the monk and I are getting drunk again (you know - practicing and stuff Wink)
we spend the rest of the journey intoxicated in the ship's dojo.

Pirate wormhole.

Let's negotiate passage through the wormhole.

15 = 3[d4]+1[d4]+4[d4]+3[d4]+4[d6]

Nice.

So, 'are we there yet?'

(Likely | 4[d10]) No, but...

Soon.

Crystal metropolis.

Makes sense. ANd in it's vicinity: The megalith!

(Very Likely | 8[d10]) Yes.

Is it hard to get there?

(50/50 | 3[d10]) No.

I use my 'planetary History' skills on that megalith:

9 = 2[d4]+3[d4]+1[d4]+2[d4]+1[d6]

K, not that good.

Debase / Love.

It's used to make sillics love less. It's evil! (and: :3)
Can we destroy it?

(50/50 | 8[d10]) Yes.

Let's do that then. Is the driver here?

(50/50 | 1[d10]) No, and...

It's not really a person. It's what 'drives' the evil sillics.
K, let's steal that shtuff and leave.
(I use 'salvage')

10 = 1[d4]+1[d4]+3[d4]+3[d4]+2[d6]

K, good enough but not very good. Does anybody notice?

(50/50 | 3[d10]) No.

Oh, I forgot we had to escort the android professor the the industrial network. So we're not really in some long forgotten slipstream network,
but rather an industrial one. We dropped him here when we arrived.

A 'megalith' is a real big stone and chryssies are 'stone-people'.

Maybe the megalith is just an evil leader. Maybe it's some '2001: A Space Odyssee' thing as I assumed throughout play.
As we were expected to kidnap it, we decide not to destroy it at once but to find out more about it.
(After all: Maybe they won't just start loving again, just because we destroy that thing)

K, *music and credits* - more in the next episode of 'The Floating Fortress'!

浮遊要塞 - エピソード5
日曜日朝の少年ロボットバブルガムロックンロールガンダムテレビ番組

('The Floating Fortress' - Episode 5
sunday morning shonen robot bubblegum rock 'n roll gundam tv show)

The setting is galactic matrix involving old particle scrambler and tachyon cruiser. Your quest is to perform a salvage operation at the toxic platform. Trying to stop you is the affectionate skilled in streetwise. You are currently at the toxic sensor array.

Setting is hidden matrix involving high quality tracking device and royal floating fortress.

Hopeless jack-of-all-trades who is slightly stronger than you and whose motivation is to comprehend discretion, weaken slavery, and achieve racism; who speaks of insane destruction and is focused on your current story.

Launch the probe from the renegade flotilla.

Popular admiral.

Hidden fortress.

Arachnid queen.

Above average personal force field.

Information gathering.

Oh, a personal force field! :3

K, we know the Arachnis queen - she's the Replicant queen from a former episode. Also there's a floating fortress - only this time it is hidden; Can't say it was easy to find the last time though <_<

A lot of toxicity - so more practicing drunken monkey style I guess ... Maybe we should concentrate on the 'hungover' part of it all - yet there's stimpacks - so ...

It's basically still about the matrix - which is a good thing, cause I still don't know what's been real during the first episodes and what hasn't ... *playsthemefromthetwilightzone*

Also, we might want to make a list of former adversaries as they tend to not show up again - k, the Replicant queen just did so it will maybe all make sense at one point. We'll see.

Quite drunk I stand on the sensor array platform, right next to the eternal void of space. As we try to salvage ('what was that we were trying to salvage?' 'Trying to do what?' 'Well, never mind!') as our adversary - the somewhat prejudiced streetwise jack of all trades - I imagine some Han Solo type of guy - only that he's a racist. Probably hates all the Crystallines - scratch that - he's probably Crystalline himself, right?

(Somewhat Likely | 2[d10]) No.

So he hates them?

(Likely | 8[d10]) Yes.

As he keeps talking about destroying all the Sillics, we try to get hold of that Tachyon cruiser, using our mad salvage skills:

19 = 2[d4]+3[d4]+4[d4]+4[d4]+6[d6]

Hefty malus for being intoxicated:

2 = 2[d5]

We try to convince him that not all Silics are evil:

13 = 2[d4]+3[d4]+1[d4]+3[d4]+4[d6]

Is he clever?

(50/50 | 1[d10]) No, and...

Oh, he's probably drunk too. d4?

(50/50 | 1[d10]) No, and...

K, he believes us but we're all drunk so ...

Maybe he's the popular admiral of the renegade fleet?

(50/50 | 1[d10]) No, and...

Harm / Leadership.

He doesn't like him either. Probably just some drunkard?

(50/50 | 6[d10]) Yes, but... +Event: Overindulge / Illness

He now 'lays a space pizza'. Well never mind. oÔ

So, where's that admiral and his renegade flotilla?

Guild fortress.

We kinda should go to that fortress soon. We let the kid do that as he basically works there (or would if he weren't be with us all the time) Also: He's sober.

9 = 2[d4]+1[d4]+3[d4]+2[d4]+1[d6]

Hardly made it, but we're there.

How do they welcome us? (tw: 'Judge's guild!' Big Grin - it's probably in 'the City State of the Invincible Overlord' that's surrounded by some 'wilderlands' - I should play some hexploration here soon! ^_^). Thinking of it now - the first scene was probably some drunk guy who kept us from just getting into our spaceship instead of salvaging a new one - so we have a 'tachyon cruiser' - nice. ^_^)

Take / Art.

They try to steal our paintings and sculptures? Oh I know - we give them some as a present to decorate their fortress. Should make them happy - also, if you skip job that often ... <_< Sooo ... What happens next?

Waste / Competition.

A competition in who get's wasted first - the whole thing started with a party and the party has since never stopped Smile

But what about that admiral?

Overthrow / Misfortune.

Sadly been overthrown. Oh my ... Still we need to launch that probe. So is the flotilla here?

(50/50 | 10[d10]) Yes, and...

They're willing to launch that probe for us - maybe into the matrix?

(Somewhat Likely | 5[d10]) Yes, but...

It's obviously not a real probe - or is it more like a borg ('Replicant queen') 'unimatrix? 'Unimatrix zero is a bit like 'the matrix' after all ...

A mindprobe by the way is not only a psi maneuvre but also 'an alien communication device which is used to take information directly from brain waves.' in X-Com ... and a cocktail! o0 (and a rather strong one as it seems!)

So we need someone, who's still inside the matrix?

(50/50 | 6[d10]) Yes, but...

It's still hard.

Let's get back to the planet of the evil silics then. (ouch - what about that megalith, btw? Anything helpful here? Maybe some telepath could help.

(50/50 | 3[d10]) No.

K, sorry for asking ... <_< What did I even think ... >_>

Let's sneak into Sillics space then. Maybe some cloaking device?

(50/50 | 6[d10]) Yes, but...

Don't have one. Let's just go places til we find something or someone useful.

Renegade sphere.

Mioght just be about the Replicants rather than the Sillics after all.

We call them. Are they receptive?

(50/50 | 6[d10]) Yes, but...

They don't know what we are talking about. Never mind - is there a Replicant on board their ship 'who' lives in that matrix in it's sleep?

(50/50 | 1[d10]) No, and...

Waste / A plan.

Okay, there goes our nifty plan, then. Also: Alcohol
(Oh wait: XPs from last session:

3 = 3[d5]

5 = 5[d5]

Anything else?

(50/50 | 9[d10]) Yes.

Punish / Good.

Who? Us?

(50/50 | 6[d10]) Yes, but...

Hungover again, eh?

(50/50 | 5[d10]) No, but...

We punish them?

(50/50 | 7[d10]) Yes.

Maybe we accidentally gave their position away to the Replicant queen?

(50/50 | 2[d10]) No.

What?

Vengeance / Dispute.

Who?

Ambitious female symbiant.

Okay, so sum symbiant trying to rally against the Replicants. Is she from the flotilla?

(Somewhat Likely | 6[d10]) Yes.

I speak out for the Replicants:

12 = 1[d4]+1[d4]+3[d4]+3[d6]+4[d4]

3 = 3[d7]

'Feint'

Is she clever?

(50/50 | 1[d10]) No, and...

K.

9 = 2[d4]+2[d4]+3[d4]+2

7 = 7[d7]

'Rebuttal'

12 = 4[d4]+1[d4]+4[d4]+1[d4]+2[d6]

5 = 5[d7]

'Obfuscate'

10 = 3[d4]+1[d4]+4[d4]+2

1 = 1[d7]

'Avoid the topic'

19 = 2[d4]+4[d4]+4[d4]+3[d4]+6[d6]

5 = 5[d7]

'Rebuttal'

8 = 2[d4]+1[d4]+3[d4]+2

7 = 7[d7]

We win (also I just found out it's 'd5' not 'd7' oh my)

Leaving the Replicants alone we proceed through the endless void between the stars.

Insidious corvette.

In what way?

Antagonise / Intrigues.

K.

Idealistic performer who is as strong as you and whose motivation is to complete spirits, implement affluence, and proclaim the poor; who speaks of insane news and is focused on your wealth.

Some sect leader, I suppose. Do many of us fall for him?

(50/50 | 4[d10]) No.

Good thing. Let's just leave here.

Occupied monolith.

Our monolith?

(50/50 | 3[d10]) No.

Another one then - mysteriously connected to the other ones, maybe! I use my Planetary History skills!

19 = 3[d4]+4[d4]+4[d4]+3[d4]+5[d6]

Create / Pleasures.

But is it connected to the other one(s)?

(50/50 | 6[d10]) Yes, but...

It gives pleasures. So it's one that is for love, then. Any Sillics around?

(50/50 | 6[d10]) Yes, but...

They don't know?

(50/50 | 4[d10]) No.

Can it help make your megalith good?

(50/50 | 9[d10]) Yes.

Is it easy?

(50/50 | 8[d10]) Yes.

Because love conquers all - aaw :3
(Good we didn't destroy it!)

We take it back to it's former site and then launch a mind probe into someone's mind living inside the matrix there.
'Are we there yet?'

(50/50 | 5[d10]) No, but...

Soon.

Lost megalith.

Another one?

(50/50 | 6[d10]) Yes, but...

An evil one?

(50/50 | 7[d10]) Yes.

We make it good with our monolith!

(50/50 | 10[d10]) Yes, and...

NOw they are all good again!

(50/50 | 3[d10]) No.

But something happenes: Energy flows through them - from one megalith to the other monolith.

(50/50 | 4[d10]) No.

Man! So what happens?

Gratify / A project.

We feel gratified and when we'll find another corrupted monolith we'll heal it too.

'There yet?'

(Somewhat Likely | 2[d10]) No.

Time-warped generation ship.

Now that's interesting. Does it have something to do with the monoliths?

(50/50 | 3[d10]) No.

Sillics?

(50/50 | 6[d10]) Yes, but...

From the past?

(50/50 | 8[d10]) Yes.

So they can tell me interesting stuff about the Sillic's past!

(50/50 | 3[d10]) No.

Well, a bit ...

(50/50 | 8[d10]) Yes.

See?

Mind probe time!!! - Launch it!

(Likely | 4[d10]) No, but... +Event: Ruin / Peace

A serene archeological site?

(50/50 | 9[d10]) Yes.

I dig that!

11 = 2[d4]+1[d4]+1[d4]+2[d4]+5[d6]

Decrease / Joy.

Bad news from the past! What is it?

Open / Dreams.

A vision, maybe?

(50/50 | 6[d10]) Yes, but...

In my dreams - what does it say?

Oppress / Technology.

Who? The Sillics?

(50/50 | 8[d10]) Yes.

Maybe another specie's technological development got hindered so they could more easily control them?

(Very Likely | 10[d10]) Yes, and...

They used some kind of matrix?

(Somewhat Likely | 2[d10]) No.

So that ws before they had that technology!

(Somewhat Likely | 2[d10]) No.

*was

But they didn't use it. Maybe they didn't think of using the technology that way yet back then?

(Somewhat Likely | 4[d10]) No, but...

They weren't that evil?

(50/50 | 3[d10]) No.

It didn't work on them?

(Somewhat Likely | 9[d10]) Yes.

Maybe we could find a 'cure' against the matrix by analysing those ruins?

(Somewhat Likely | 4[d10]) No, but...

Maybe later, when we find more of what they left behind?

(Likely | 7[d10]) Yes. +Event: Care / Military

U.N. troops?

(50/50 | 6[d10]) Yes, but... +Event: Ambush / Illness

The planet is disease ridden?

(Somewhat Likely | 4[d10]) No, but...

Bio-weapons?

(Likely | 5[d10]) Yes, but... +Event: Heal / Vehicle

The U.N. took care of it?

(Very Likely | 7[d10]) Yes.

Evil! Was it that evil Sillic again?

(Somewhat Likely | 9[d10]) Yes.

'We'll make them pay for this!!!'
(Good nothing bad happened!)

I think this one's a bit distorted - this one's smaller though:

That's our heroine - BDSM style:
(Admin: Sorry, had to remove this image.)

The setting is insidious colony involving cheap grappling gun and neutral squadron. Your quest is to bring a criminal to justice at the swarm badlands. Trying to stop you is the resourceful Zebulon captain skilled in urban combat. You are currently at the cloaked prototype.

Setting is military headquarters involving worn-out narcotics and cheap disguise device.

Elderly civilian who is slightly weaker than you and whose motivation is to attend military, associate greed, and shepherd family; who speaks of insane intent and is focused on your power.

Defend the renegade observation dome.

Virtuous Centipod arms dealer.

Ionized cantina.

Arachnid soldier.

Solar cells.

Acrobatics.

A military headquarter. Empty bottles. A lot of empty bottles - our heroine is hungover again. Been practicing Martial Arts a lot - 'Drunken Monkey' style.
We basically drank the cafeteria empty. Still we are thirsty - very, very thirsty. Thank goodness there's still a hip flask with ionized water. The headquarter is situated at a cloaked prototype. Some arms dealer still hangs around with us. He's probably drunk too but he seems to be a nice chap all in all.
Apparently he's already a bit older and trying to get a foot in the door with the local military. We mainly talk about power sources, mainly solar cells.
There is a squad, guarding the prisoner we are asked to bring to the 'Swarm Badlands'.

Could we get a cloaking device for cheap?

Yes, but...

I know:

12 = 2[d4]+3[d4]+1[d4]+3[d4]+3[d6]

Looks good! Big Grin K, let's go!

Aquatic singularity.

Sounds like 'Abyss'

So ... apparently we are under water. Spacy! Err ... Water ... -y <_<

-_-

What now?

Ruin / Environment.

Oh, it's polluting the water! Bad, bad singularity! >Sad

Or ... is it?

Yes.

How?

Propose / The spiritual.

Maybe one of those bad monoliths? Only this time it's under water?

Yes, and...

We can heal it with out megalith!

But what now? We healed the insidious colony, right?

Yes.

K, and it's aaaal in a day's work for ... (K, let's get outta here! <_<)

Mnemonic cortex.

Is it still under water?

No.

Does it have something to do with the matrix?

No, but...

It could help us with finding out more about it. Is it some kind of library?

Yes.

I hack into their computer:

11 = 2[d4]+2[d4]+1[d4]+1[d4]+5[d6]

Good enough! What do I find out?

Move / Environment.

An earthquake?

No.

Sea-quake?

No, and...

No quake at all - does the library move?

Yes, and...

We move with it! Where to?

Insectoid asteroid belt.

Oh, insectoids! ^_^

I remember the last time we met insectoids - we were moved to a parallel universe back then. Were we 'beamed' again? Together with the library? (I suspect the movement must have been at an instant, no?)

Yes.

I decide the library looked like a pyramid again. A bit 'Atlantis' like the whole thing! ^_^

So, what now?

Oppress / Outside.

The insectoids outside are oppressed?

No.

We can't get outside?

No, but...

The doors are blocked from the outside?

Yes.

What's happening outside?

Imitate / Enemies.

Someone is imitating his enemies?

Yes.

So the insectoids pose as their enemies? Who are they?

Grunt.

Some grunts - maybe it's some military exercise?

Yes, but...

We don't know.

"They blocked the exits!"

I try to find another exit by using the computer:

12 = 1[d4]+2[d4]+4[d4]+4[d4]+1[d6]

Worked. So - did I find anything?

Yes.

Punish / Pleasures.

Some BDSM dungeon under the library?

Yes, and...

I also find some nice new outfits! :3

K, are we outside now?

No.

Ionized ringed planet.

Maybe we've been inside my water bottle all of the time?

No.

Did we get transported again?

No.

A piercing parlour?

Yes, but...

Nobody's here?

No, but...

Trick / Adversities.

We can trick those 'grunts'. Maybe by posing as BDSM fashion mannequins?

Yes.

Disguise - am I good at it?

No.

1?

Yes, and...

a bonus.

What about the others?

The kid here?

No.

But the monk. Good at it?

Yes.

d6?

No, but...

d4+ a bonus? more than 2?

Yes, but...

only once?

No.

What is that - dex? Int?

Is it dex?

No, and...

Neither int - maybe wil?

Yes.

High?

Yes.

d6?

No.

d8?

Yes, but...

I get a malus (cause I'm drunk?)

No.

Because it's weird, right?

Yes.

Soo. Monkey-Monk: High wil?

Yes.

d6?

Yes, but...

a malus. Do we get a hefty malus?

Yes, and...

A very hefty one at that. 10?

Yes.

1 = 1[d4]+1[d4]+3[d4]+3[d8]+3-10

Lol

6 = 3[d4]+1[d4]+4[d4]+4[d4]+3+1[d6]-10

So they catch us being 'disguised' as BDSM mannequins.

Yes, but...

They only laugh about us?

Yes.

^_^

'Err ... high, there ... um ...'

*ggg*

Abuse / Suffering.

They keep on making fun of us until we're quite a bit embarrassed?

Yes, and...

They won't stop laughing.

Bitopian artificial planet.

Let's say it's 'bi-o-topia'. Doesn't mean much either but let's say it's some eco-utopia. Nice tie-in to that 60ies scifi feeling we've had going on so far.

Lush forests - wide fields of green grass - every living creature is in full harmony with itself and the rest of the eco-system.
Distributed over the asteroid belt. It is wonderful. It is ...

Adjourn / Enemies.

keeps away your enemies for forever - how peaceful! ^_^

Oh that serenity! Oh that tranquility!!
(Btw - is that prisoner still with us? Some insects do live in swarms. Although this doesn't seem like 'badlands' at all. Fish live in swarms, too -
did we escort him to this place under water? Was it called badlands, because of the megalith down there?

No, but...

It's here.

Yes.

They probably don't even ounish him here, but try and make him a better person - just by being nice to him!

Yes.

*punish

Aaw. :3

Btw - what's with XP from last adventure?

5 = 5[d5]

3 = 3[d5]

3 = 3[d5]

Oh, that Zebulon! As he didn't show up yet - now is probably the time:
What does the Zebulon do here? (btw, I googled it and wactually found some pics of arachnod aliens - maybe he's not a Replicant?)

Yes.

Insects - spiders - all quite alike and stuff ..

Why is he here?

Block / Exterior factors.

K, we don't know. So - urban combat in a biotopia ... err?

No, and...

So he's clearly not on his home-turf. Good!

Are we kind of outdoor-ish?

No.

Not even the monkey?

No, and...

He's even rather bad. A 1 then. And me? 1 also?

Yes, but...

I get a bonus. High one?

Yes.

+5 then. (Why?)

Cruelty / Opposition.

Maybe they kicked over couple bushes and now I'm mad?

Yes, and...

Even worse things! Those ... can't even ... ! >Sad

15 = 2[d4]+1[d4]+2[d4]+4[d4]+1+5

Oh, what's his int btw? High?

No.

d4?

No.

1 - always or only because he's drunk?

Yes.

Or is it becaue he didn't drink?

Yes, but...

*because

Could be an 'addiction' which would mean he'd usually have like d4 or even d6. if he's a heavy drinker.
When drunk, however - it's -1 for every two 'doses' up to 4 and then -1 for every dose after that.

So - d4?

Yes.

Okay. So usually it's a d4 then. Means -1 for whatever reason.
Let's just say he'll have a couple beer then to improve his int.

11 = 3[d4]+3[d4]+3[d4]+1+1

Is the Zebulon very clever?

No, but...

d4?

Yes.

12 = 4[d4]+3[d4]+1[d4]+3[d4]+1

So it's 6 to 2 success levels for us - which means: 4 sls - 'very good'

K, just read in the rules:
What's my 'sleigh of hands'? High?

Yes.

d6 then?

Yes, but...

A bonus - I got a specialization (+2)
Acrobatics? High?

No.

1?

Yes.

Monkey-Monk?

Yes.

No.

d8?

Yes, and...

A specialization. ^_^

So, we caught him off-hand while he tried to hide in the basement of a tree or something.
We also used the time to get drunk.

13 = 2[d4]+2[d4]+3[d4]+2[d8]+3+1

21 = 4[d4]+2[d4]+4[d4]+1[d8]+3+5[d6]+2

11 = 4[d4]+4[d4]+1[d4]+1[d4]+1[d4]

17 = 4[d4]+3[d4]+1[d4]+1[d8]+3+1[d4]+4

What's his MA skill? High?

Yes, and...

A bonus. d6?

No, and...

d10?

No, but...

Higher than d10?

No, and...

So it's d8 - and a bonus. A skill specialization?

No, and...

Power armor?

Yes.

+2?

Yes, but...

It's to his dex. Is it high (dex)?

Yes.

d6?

Yes.

11 = 4[d4]+3[d4]+1[d4]+2[d8]+2[d6]+2-3

Okay, I'll add the success levels I'm better than him to the damage roll:

Negligible: Nick/Scratch/Bruise.

13 = 1[d4]+3[d4]+1[d4]+4[d8]+3+1

19 = 4[d4]+2[d4]+1[d4]+2[d8]+1+2+5[d6]+2

13 = 3[d4]+3[d4]+1[d4]+2[d4]+4[d4]

17 = 4[d4]+2[d4]+2[d4]+2+3[d8]+1+2+1[d4]

17 = 4[d4]+1[d4]+2[d4]+3[d6]+2+8[d8]-3

Legsweep?

No, and...

So I kicked him the last time.
This time again - did he dodge my kick?

No, and...

So he blocked it.
Or did he attack and I blocked?

Yes.

K, next round:

My acrobatics:

15 = 1[d4]+1[d4]+3[d4]+6[d8]+1+2+1

18 = 4[d4]+3[d4]+3[d4]+2[d8]+1+2+1[d6]+2

Is his notice high?

No, and...

a malus.
1?

No.

so d4. High malus?

Yes.

H?

No, and...

10+?

No.

3 = 1[d2]+2

9 = 2[d4]+4[d4]+3[d4]+1[d4]+2[d4]-3

So his 9 'notice' vs my 18 'sleigh of hand'

I get +4 to my Martial Arts and he -3 to his.

19 = 1[d4]+3[d4]+1[d4]+3[d8]+1+2+4[d4]+4

16 = 2[d4]+3[d4]+2[d4]+4[d6]+2+6[d8]-3

1 success level better. A kick?

Yes.

Minor Injury: Largely superficial; painful and distracting, but not life threatening.

Distracting - a malus?

Yes.

1?

Yes.

20 = 4[d4]+1[d4]+3[d4]+8[d8]+1+2+1

19 = 2[d4]+3[d4]+2[d4]+6[d8]+1+2+1[d6]+2

17 = 3[d4]+3[d4]+3[d4]+4[d4]+4[d4]

Same success level - no bonus. Sad

13 = 1[d4]+1[d4]+1[d4]+5[d8]+1+2+2[d4]

13 = 2[d4]+2[d4]+1[d4]+5[d8]+5[d6]-2

Did I kick?

Yes.

And he blocked?

No.

So he dodged.

16 = 4[d4]+2[d4]+4[d4]+2[d8]+1+2+1

19 = 2[d4]+1[d4]+3[d4]+3[d8]+1+2+5[d6]+2

15 = 2[d4]+4[d4]+4[d4]+2[d4]+3[d4]

1 sl better (+1)

23 = 4[d4]+2[d4]+1[d4]+8[d8]+1+2+4[d4]+1

18 = 4[d4]+3[d4]+4[d4]+4[d6]+2+4[d8]-3

1 better

Minor Injury: Largely superficial; painful and distracting, but not life threatening.

Kick?

No.

Legsweep then.

Just read, I'd also need contortionist. Is it high?

Yes, but...

A malus?

No, and...

d6?

Yes.

The monkey? d6 too?

Yes, but...

malus?

No, and...

Force field generator.

Oh, I forgot - we have a personal force field. ^_^

Do his men try to switch off a force field?

Yes, and...

They're about to succed. Do they try to free the prisoner(s)?

No, and...

*succeed

They are already free. They'll try to shoot us from the orbit?

Yes, but...

Only from the other side of the force field. Btw - I might get extra attacks from my power armor.

Critical Injury: Requires immediate attention; clearly life-threatening if not immediately deadly.

(The first actually said 'killed'. I found it didn't fit the general tone of the 'series'. 2 after that said: 'bruise')

So - do his henchmen stop?

Yes, and...

They surrender! (Yay!)

Technologically advanced factory.

(First daid: 'Industrial dome' - I thought it didn't really fit into that 'biotopa' thing -
the next one and this one however were similar - so ...)

Are we still on that asteroid belt?

Yes.

Well, they probably need that kind of stuff too, I guess. ^_^

Oppress / Dreams.

Haven't slept for a while - some well deserved rest then it is for us!

THE END?

*music and end titles*

Yes.

Sorry about the pic! I wanted to ask first but as I found it on wikipedia, I thought it wouldn't be that bad. Sorry again! Sad

浮遊要塞 - エピソード7
('The Floating Fortress' - Part 7)

The setting is binary system frigate involving high quality tangler grenade and hostile hive. Your quest is to patrol the frozen megalith. Trying to stop you is the demonic assassin skilled in planetary cartography. You are currently at the rogue matrix.

Setting is liberated stargate involving cheap plasma cutter and below average blaster carbine.

Glum scrapper who is as strong as you and whose motivation is to explain composure, compel success, and understand criminals; who speaks of knowing death and is focused on your treasure.

Survey the cloaked ringed planet.

Tough AI programming.

Desolate matrix.

Psionic assassin.

Gemstone.

Foraging.

Oh, we're at a matrix - but a 'rogue' one. What do they use it for?

Overindulge / Disruption.

Maybe it's like some super realistic holo-deck. There is a frozen megalith on a cloaked ringed planet. The matrix seems deserted. Last time we had extra dimensional beings and cloaked planets, we were inside the matrix. Are those - in fact - inside the matrix?

Yes.

Is the megalith inside the matrix too?

Yes.

I mean - a liberated stargate: That sound a lot like that gate in that pyramid in our first episode?

Yes.

The glum scrapper teaches us a lesson in tranquility. He also talks about buying our ship for his junk yard - we are not happy. Undecided
We talk about how those insectoids do not punish criminals but try to make them better people.

We try to find out about the matrix, here where it's safe, by analyzing the AI programming - it's quite tough.

Oh, XPs from last episode:

4 = 4[d5]

3 = 3[d5]

Computers:

13 = 2[d4]+4[d4]+1[d4]+1[d4]+5[d6]

What did we learn?

Inform / A burden.

In what respect?

Oppress / Prison.

K, we knew that didn't we? But what did we learn to use against the evil Chryssies?

Befriend / Home.

Well, maybe.

Is the scrapper that Meklar from the first episode?

Yes.

'Why did you try to stop us?' (does he even remember?)

Yes, but...

We beat him thoroughly that last time.

Still, he thinks about stealing our ship. We should take him to that biotopic prison.
Are his men still here?

Yes.

Is the assassin also here?

No.

Can we repair the gate?

19 = 3[d4]+1[d4]+4[d4]+3[d4]+8[d10]

16 = 4[d4]+1[d4]+1[d4]+2[d4]+8[d10]

So, what do Meklar and his insectoids do?

Abuse / News.

What do they have in mind? Use it?

Yes.

So they travel to the parallel universe now?

Yes.

Do a few of them stay here to guard the gate?

Yes.

Let's go through the gate and find out what happened to the monkey people. Might all have left the planet already. A lot to salvage for some scrapper though. Wink

Chaotic maelstrom.

Ouch - not what we expected. What now?

Secret anomaly.

K ...

Crystal ruins.

We fall, and fall - seemingly forever - then: The crystal ruins.
I use my 'Planetary History' skills:

15 = 4[d4]+3[d4]+1[d4]+4[d4]+3[d6]

What do I find out?

Spy / The innocent.

They spied on their victims, right? Using the matrix.

Yes, and...

They spy on us now too?

No, and...

We found out something about how they did it?

Yes. +Event: Control / The innocent

And how they controlled their victims!

Below average ammo bandolier.

Also, I found myself an ancient ammo belt! ^_^

K, I think we found out quite a lot!

But how to get away from here? Maybe we could just manipulate the matrix?

Insidious nebula.

Maybe some live form that's roaming these ruins?

Yes, but...

We don't now. So it's getting foggy ... We keep searching the ruins - what do we find next?

Antidote.

Is the fog poisonous?

Yes, but...

The antidote doesn't work against it?

Yes.

Liberated ruins.

We try to get away from the fog.

Demilitarized gate.

Does it work?

No, but...

We can repair it:

13 = 3[d4]+1[d4]+4[d4]+2[d4]+3[d10]

11 = 1[d4]+2[d4]+2[d4]+3[d4]+3[d10]

Is it a stargate, btw?

No. +Event: Lie / Nature

It was just built to look like one?

Yes.

What does it do?

Trick / Tactics.

But in what way?

Kill / Power.

It empties all our power cells - good thing we learned about solar cells last episode!

Let's just cobble together something:

18 = 4[d4]+1[d4]+3[d4]+2[d4]+8[d10]

20 = 4[d4]+3[d4]+3[d4]+3[d4]+7[d10]

Now, that went rather well! ^_^

Maybe it's still a stargate and we just need to recharge it with our solar power - device?

Yes, but...

It'll take a while.

In the meantime ...

Release / Danger.

Android.

A replicant?

Yes. +Event: Create / Energy

The gate?

No.

The android?

Yes.

Maybe we can make it walk through that gate, so it loses it's energy.

16 = 2[d4]+4[d4]+3[d4]+2[d4]+5[d6]

Is it clever?

Yes.

d6?

Yes, but...

a malus. High?

Yes, but... +Event: Inspect / Inside

We don't have to lure it there - it inspects it because it wants to anyway.

So, let's just make it so that it's a trap again:

22 = 3[d4]+1[d4]+4[d4]+4[d4]+10[d10]

10 = 3[d4]+2[d4]+2[d4]+2[d4]+1[d10]

So we have an android that's out of fuel now. Let's analyze it:

18 = 1[d4]+3[d4]+3[d4]+4[d4]+7[d10]

17 = 3[d4]+2[d4]+3[d4]+2[d4]+7[d10]

It's made up of nanites. Should prove useful at some point. Let's just take it along!

So, let's wait til the gate functions again and then go through it:

Enemy dyson sphere.

Outside of it?

No.

Not good - let's try and get outta here asap! Could we use the gate on this side to get somewhere else?

Yes.

5 = 1[d4]+1[d4]+1[d4]+1[d4]+1[d10]

14 = 3[d4]+3[d4]+3[d4]+3[d4]+2[d10]

Who were the enemies here?

Monk.

Monkey people?

No, and...

Zealot.

Okay, their zealots. We hardly made it - but we did: Where did we go to this time?

Binary system listening post.

Btw - who were the hive guys from the beginning?

Sympathetic shocktrooper.

Replicants?

No.

Insectoids?

Yes.

Okay - then it was them.

Okay, who's here at the listening post?

Tough prisoner.

Who guards him?

Chaste female criminal.

Romantic pioneer who is slightly stronger than you and whose motivation is to rob the elite, weaken the forsaken, and conquer force; who speaks of scheming investigation and is focused on your current scene.

Scene? 'a scene is information that can flow from a physical environment into a perceptual system via sensory transduction.'
I also found a link to that BDSM article on Wikipedia again.

So I think it might be about that, although the former sounds more 'scientific'.

No.

Probably why we drag that lifeless android through that gate and where the heck we're coming from?

No, and...

Maybe it's about the Matrix?

No, and...

About nanites?

No, but...

The android itself.

No, and...

Does it seem save here?

No, but...

Maybe for a while. What's outside?

Cyclic hive.

Do they listen to the hive outside?

Yes.

Replicants?

Yes, but...

They are not aware of them?

No.

Yet another group?

Yes, and...

They're friendly?

Yes.

Aaw.

So, what could be of any danger here?

Dispute / Opulance.

Is it like a small town here?

No.

Only the two guys?

No.

So rather a small listening post.

Yes.

Who else is here?

Introverted female guide.

We try to get someplace else:

18 = 2[d4]+2[d4]+2[d4]+3[d4]+9[d10]

22 = 4[d4]+4[d4]+1[d4]+3[d4]+10[d10]

Primitive artificial planet.

Is it save here?

No.

13 = 3[d4]+3[d4]+1[d4]+2[d4]+4[d10]

20 = 2[d4]+3[d4]+3[d4]+2[d4]+10[d10]

Ethereal sphere.

Navy headquarters.

Deserted scout ship.

No one here - is it save?

Yes.

Okay, we use the computers ion board to find out about the nanites and the Replicants in general.

20 = 4[d4]+3[d4]+4[d4]+3[d4]+6[d10]

18 = 3[d4]+2[d4]+3[d4]+4[d4]+6[d10]

I try to get out of the matrix again:

12 = 1[d4]+3[d4]+3[d4]+2[d4]+3[d6]

Oh, I forgot: Let's get to that frozen megalith by that cloaked ringed planet.

Is it far?

No.

What a nice coincidence. What happens?

Procrastinate / Plans.

We do a whole lot of nothing and make plans ... Until ...

Starting / News.

Force field generator.

Does the assassin find us?

Yes.

Maaad skills, right?

Yes, but...

A malus?

Yes.

Okay, after some researching I decide that it's some kind of extra-dimensional ninja. He also knows a 'nerve-pinch' or two.
Beaming in - undetectably - from his own dimension, he somehow fails to surprise us!

13 = 3[d4]+2[d4]+2[d4]+2[d8]+1+2+1

24 = 2[d4]+3[d4]+2[d4]+7[d8]+1+2+5[d6]+2

Is he any clever?

No. +Event: Betray / Dreams

Does he manipulate the matrix?

Yes.

'Bullet time' ... err ... time ... ! ^_^

d4?

No.

1?

Yes.

8 = 2[d4]+3[d4]+1[d4]+2

Per? High?

Yes.

d6?

No, and...

a bonus - d8?

Yes, and...

Bonus high?

No, and...

1?

9 = 4[d4]+1[d4]+2[d4]+2

Oh wait . it's 2 again for a skill specialization.

18 = 1[d4]+4[d4]+3[d4]+1+7[d8]+2

18 vs 24 = +2 for me!

How's his M.A.? High?

Yes.

d6?

No.

d8?

No, but...

d10?

Yes, but...

a malus?

No, and...

It's due to some device? (like power armor)

Yes.

Dex high?

No, but... +Event: Attainment / Possessions

Also due to his armor?

Yes.

d6?

No.

d4?

Yes, but...

+2

16 = 1[d4]+3[d4]+3[d4]+3[d4]+2+7[d10]-3

Me:

17 = 3[d4]+1[d4]+1[d4]+3[d8]+1+2+4[d4]+2

Slightly better. Kick?

No.

Leg sweep then.

Moderate Injury: Hampers action significantly; will require first aid/medical attention.

Does he give up?

Yes.

I want his armor! *hehe*

Yes.

K, and all his ninja stuff. We also arrest him.
- probably can't take it outside the matrix anyway.
We really need to learn how to manipulate the matrix <_<

Do we still have to patrol the monolith?

No, but...

We can. Let's do that some more and try to learn what we can.

XPs?

2 = 2[d5]

3 = 3[d5]

1 = 1[d5]

Anything else?

Procrastinate / Investment.

Probably time to do not much and spend those XPs - e.g. learn stuff.

Btw - has something serene to it, just circling that frozen megalith in our scout ship - some classical music playing too maybe?

THE END

浮遊要塞 - エピソード8
('The Floating Fortress' - Part 8)

The setting is founders anomaly involving old gauss rifle and guild staging area. Your quest is to fight your way into the alliance battle station. Trying to stop you is the guard skilled in diplomacy. You are currently at the blockaded ordinance depot.

Setting is mnemonic starport involving above average folded turret and very high quality hover bike.

Confident civilian who is as strong as you and whose motivation is to weaken faith, develop gluttony, and progress dissonance; who speaks of prejudiced turmoil and is focused on your contacts.

A staging area in a military sense?

(50/50 | 4[d10]) No.

What guikd? The Psi guild again?

(50/50 | 7[d10]) Yes.

*guild

'In space exploration, the area where final assembly is done on space vehicles before they are moved out to their launch pad.

(50/50 | 6[d10]) Yes, but...

It's empty now?

(50/50 | 1[d10]) No, and...

I mean as in: No spacecraft that would need assembling?

(50/50 | 2[d10]) No.

SO there, in fact _is_ some half-assembled spacecraft here?

(50/50 | 5[d10]) No, but... +Event: Carelessness / Inside

They just finished assembling it and now they party?

(50/50 | 7[d10]) Yes.

Are we inside the matrix?

(50/50 | 1[d10]) No, and...

Forgot the ordnance depot - so it's probably that, too.

Does that hover bike belong to the civilian?

(50/50 | 8[d10]) Yes.

Would he let me ride it?

Do we befriend a criminal?

(50/50 | 7[d10]) Yes.

'Mnemonic' - is that some kind of library again?

(Somewhat Likely | 7[d10]) Yes.

K, whatevs - we need to break that blockade somehow. Or sneak out.
I bet the criminal wants us to smuggle out contraband.

(Very Likely | 9[d10]) Yes.

We agree, but first we'll have to get to that battle station.

Is it here?

(50/50 | 8[d10]) Yes.

Is 'The Alliance' a faction here on the library - thing?

(Very Likely | 10[d10]) Yes, and... +Event: Disrupt / Technology

Oh, the generation ship! Teach him what?

Stealth.

A Replicant generation ship doesn't make much sense. So they might just have some Replicants to take care of stuff and ... stuff.

Let's go there then!

'Are we there yet?'

(50/50 | 7[d10]) Yes.

Okay, we see me teaching him stealth - end credits and music

Thank you slaad11! ^_^

The setting is hidden vortex involving worn-out hover bike and insectoid dreadnaught. Your quest is to repair the damage at the probability dreadnaught. Trying to stop you is the cyberninja skilled in seduction. You are currently at the occupied ancient ruins.

Setting is industrial singularity involving superb holographic recording and very high quality personal force field.

Shrewd polymath who is as strong as you and whose motivation is to detect myths, understand progress, and achieve atrocities; who speaks of inquisitive commands and is focused on your history.

Hunt down a bounty at the imperial labyrinth.

Juvenile .

Ionized fleet.

Draconian slave.

Plans.

Astrogation.

浮遊要塞 - エピソード9
('The Floating Fortress' - Part 9)

(Insectoids! Yay! Gotta love them!)
The occupied ancient ruins!
The judge is also back - his hover bike doesn't look that new anymore.

We inspect the superb holographic recording at the industrial singularity, trying to find out about the history of these ancient ruins.

With us is a true Renaissance man, asking me about History in general and also my personal one.
He's probably glad to meet a true specialist in the field of Planetary History.

Is he some kind of treasure hunter?

(Very Likely | 9[d10]) Yes.

However, he's more interested in actual treasure than in actually finding out about the history of this site.
Breaking gems out of ancient relics to a true Historian of course is some kind of atrocity!

Is the dreadnought the generation ship from last episode?

(50/50 | 9[d10]) Yes.

We taught the Replicants some sneaky tricks last time - now they need help with repairing their improbability drive.

Is the judge the juvenile?

(50/50 | 4[d10]) No.

Aw, how nice - someone to play with for him!

(50/50 | 5[d10]) No, but... +Event: Adjourn / Friendship

They fight, but eventually they might become friends.
Who he? (or she for that matter)

Hyper .

Uncouth occultist who is as strong as you and whose motivation is to acquire narcissism, operate discretion, and blight contraband; who speaks of scheming reports and is focused on your history.

Probably listens to what I have to say about Planetary History too - I feel like some kind of guide now ... XD

A little zealot as it seems - he appears to be not too fond of 'contraband' as such.

Plans & Astrogation - is that what we found out here?

(50/50 | 4[d10]) No.

9 = 1[d4]+1[d4]+3[d4]+1[d4]+3[d6]

Well, just made it - what did I find out here?

Delay / Failure.

Old safety tips for workers at the factory?

(50/50 | 9[d10]) Yes.

Smile

Who occupied the ruins - was it that Empire?

(50/50 | 9[d10]) Yes.

Who used to live here?

Virtuous female .

Cyberninja.

Develop / Allies.

Virtuous female cyberninjas. And they might become my allies?

(50/50 | 3[d10]) No.

But they were more developed than their allies?

(50/50 | 9[d10]) Yes. +Event: Oppress / The physical

And then were oppressed by them?

(50/50 | 1[d10]) No, and... +Event: Debase / Opposition

Were they AIs?

(50/50 | 10[d10]) Yes, and...

Pretty highly developed ones?

(Likely | 8[d10]) Yes.

Oh, they became AIs but were physical beings before?

(Somewhat Likely | 6[d10]) Yes.

Were they allied with the Empire?

(50/50 | 10[d10]) Yes, and...

Now they are occupied?

(50/50 | 8[d10]) Yes.

So they are still here. <_<

Is it the Epire 'draconian'?

(50/50 | 9[d10]) Yes.

*empire

*shivers*

What's the Imperial labyrinth?

Blockaded labyrinth.

Maybe some kind of dungeon - is it this factory?

(50/50 | 9[d10]) Yes.

Okay, let's try to enter it then.
We shove all that rubble aside - does it take long?

(50/50 | 9[d10]) Yes.

Finally we stand in front of the entrance to the ancient factory!

Let's get in then ... >_>

Gas giant network.

A giant gas network - makes sense - btw: Is the vortex a singularity we could repair the drive with?

(Likely | 7[d10]) Yes.

And is it inside the factory? Maybe what it gets it's energy from?

(Very Likely | 9[d10]) Yes.

We follow the gas pipes until we find the ...

Time-warped moons.

A couple of spheres that orbit a bigger device like moons - we also find out that time's somewhat warped here. (In what way?)

Truce / New ideas.

9 = 2[d4]+2[d4]+1[d4]+2[d4]+2[d10]

Haggle / Bureaucracy.

We might even be able to get that from the Empire for cheap, if we do it right (hehe).

Dominion instillation.

A 'drop controller' as we called it rather unscientifically.

Industrial instillation.

And the actual 'drop - thing'

Battle-scarred biolab.

A bio lab - apparently some fighting had been going on here.
Was it recently?

(Very Unlikely | 1[d10]) No, and...

It was a very long time ago. Did it have anything to do with the Empire?

(50/50 | 9[d10]) Yes.

From the occupation then. A bio lab might be dangerous - especially when something here might have got broken. Let's get out of here!

Swarm observatory.

Something to observe how something else 'swarms' - very technical all that. (Can't even explain - unless you were as great a scientist as I am. Well, the character that is ...)

Hyperion settlement.

'Hyperion' was the 'Titan of light', literally meaning 'the high one'. We didn't come across some stoners here, did we?

(Very Unlikely | 4[d10]) No.

No, didn't think so ...

A pack of small rodents?

(Very Unlikely | 1[d10]) No, and...

Okay, okay - Something to do with a lot of light in higher frequencies.
Also we find some very good weapons - in pink!

Above average rocket launcher.

Above average portable generator.

Personal force field.

Ionized squadron.

Oh, probably the 'ionized fleet'?

(Somewhat Likely | 4[d10]) No, but...

Some 'ionized things'.

Founders research outpost.

A research lab. Do we find anything interesting?

(50/50 | 8[d10]) Yes.

Attainment / The physical.

Below average sonic screwdriver.

*hee hee hee*

Are the plans here?

(50/50 | 3[d10]) No.

Psionic fortress.

A prison for psionics?

(Somewhat Likely | 3[d10]) No.

Maybe some place where the AIs found shelter?

(Somewhat Likely | 7[d10]) Yes.

Are there still any AIs here?

(50/50 | 7[d10]) Yes.

Is it the cyber ninja?

(50/50 | 7[d10]) Yes.

What does she do?

Expose / Inside.

Does she show us that she's here?

(Somewhat Likely | 8[d10]) Yes.

Can we get in?

(50/50 | 7[d10]) Yes.

Is it a virtual fortress?

(50/50 | 6[d10]) Yes, but...

We can enter it - into the matrix then! What happens?

Inquire / Adversities.

Enlightened base.

We seem to be on some bright shining platform.
We are now questioned - rather unfortunate, that!

What does she want to know?

Overthrow / Legal matters.

Apparently she's not overly happy that the Empire occupied her home planet.

What does she want from us?

Trick / Randomness.

She's playing random tricks on us. (Rather annoying, I shall say! o0)

how did we enter the matrix, btw?

Stop / Hope.

We just stopped and hoped for the best - maybe there was some kind of platform?

(50/50 | 7[d10]) Yes.

Rather nice technology, that!

Now what?

Communicate / Animals.

Maybe some high pitched noise?

(50/50 | 4[d10]) No.

She calls some animals?

(Somewhat Likely | 4[d10]) No, but...

We can hear animals communicating?

(Likely | 1[d10]) No, and...

We talk to animals?

(Very Likely | 10[d10]) Yes, and...

And they talk to us. What kind of animals?

Celebrate / Magic.

Maybe like a swarm of little lights?

(50/50 | 3[d10]) No.

Bunnies?

(50/50 | 6[d10]) Yes, but...

They're special bunnies.

0.0 Mrrshan! Do all of the AI look like Arrshan?

(50/50 | 5[d10]) No, but...

*Mrrshan

These are. What do they want from us?

(Btw: 'Celebrate'='Birthday party'-,magic - bunny)

Decrease / Lies.

The demand from us not to lie at them.

Ambush / The mundane.

So they ambush our physical bodies, while we're in the matrix?

(Very Likely | 9[d10]) Yes.

Are we all inside the matrix?

(50/50 | 1[d10]) No, and...

can we snap out of it?

(50/50 | 9[d10]) Yes.

How do they attack us?

Divide / Love.

Some automated defense system?

(Somewhat Likely | 9[d10]) Yes.

We all take cover as quick as possible - good we all / some of us wear power armor and / or have (a) personal force field(s)! o0

It listens.

12 = 3[d4]+1[d4]+4[d4]+2[d4]+2[d6]

IS it very intelligent?

(50/50 | 6[d10]) Yes, but...

(50/50 | 3[d10]) No.

d8?

(50/50 | 4[d10]) No.

Duel the champion of the crystalline medical station.

Will she help us with the ship repair?

(50/50 | 1[d10]) No, and...

sry for asking -_-

So, let's head for the medical station then!

Molten production facility.

Oh, the actual factory part is ... molten. Anything useful lying around?

Answer: 'A bomb'! o0

Can we take it along?

(50/50 | 5[d10]) No, but...

It's not dangerous anymore.

Imperial asteroid belt.

Did the Imperials try to duplicate that device we found earlier?

(50/50 | 9[d10]) Yes.

Did they succeed?

(50/50 | 9[d10]) Yes.

So, we have a second one here. Whatever that's good for ...

Cyclic starport.

Probably a stargate?

(50/50 | 10[d10]) Yes, and...

It's not stable?

K, that won't be of much use anymore. Are the plans here?

(50/50 | 8[d10]) Yes.

Yay. We take them with us!

Feudal research facility.

K, a lab used by the Imperials.

Enlightened crater.

Spot's on - the crater! (What's down there?)

Separate / Danger.

K, we'd better stay together and leave it be then!

Fusion powered freighter.

Probably some transport bot.

Dominion anomaly.

Oh, the control - thingy for the actual singularity!

Uncharted hideout.

hee hee - any AIs still here?

(50/50 | 10[d10]) Yes, and...

Bestow / The intellectual.

Information?

(50/50 | 8[d10]) Yes.

Neat! ^_^

Block / Power.

The technology for getting energy out of the singularity?

(Very Likely | 10[d10]) Yes, and...

Harm / Plans.

Now we have all that we wanted - we can repair the genration ship and have those astro-maps we were after.

Still - we kinda promised the cyber ninja and they are mistreated by the Empire after all!

Battle-scarred monolith.

That kind of monolith?

(50/50 | 4[d10]) No.

Oh - would have been easier to just make the Empire 'good' again I guess. :3

What is it for?

Trust / Leadership.

Some symbolic military thing?

(Somewhat Likely | 1[d10]) No, and...

Some psi thing?

(50/50 | 3[d10]) No. +Event: Desert / Joy

Someone's sad?

Oh is it the crystalline champion? Big and battle scarred?

(Very Likely | 6[d10]) Yes.

But now he's sad?

(50/50 | 3[d10]) No.

We are sad now?

(50/50 | 7[d10]) Yes.

Bossfight!!!
Is it good at fighting?

(Sure Thing | 8[d10]) Yes.

d6?

(50/50 | 1[d10]) No, and... +Event: Divide / Anger

It attacks us all?

(50/50 | 4[d10]) No.

d10?

(50/50 | 5[d10]) No, but...

d12 then. Dex? High?

(50/50 | 2[d10]) No.

d4?

(50/50 | 3[d10]) No.

1. Str? High?

(Very Likely | 8[d10]) Yes.

d6?

(50/50 | 1[d10]) No, and...

d10?

(50/50 | 3[d10]) No.

d12?

(50/50 | 6[d10]) Yes, but...

A malus. Is it high?

(50/50 | 2[d10]) No.

1 = 1[d2]

'Divide anger'?

Take / Tactics.

The usual tactics - I'll first try it all by myself with my mad 'drunken monkey' style skills - and then let the others help me if I don't succeed.

First it's time to get drunk though. Does he want a drink too?

(50/50 | 10[d10]) Yes, and...

He drinks a lot. Is it hampering him?

(Somewhat Likely | 2[d10]) No. +Event: Mistrust / Extravagance

'Hey - you want to get me drunk so I'm fair game for you?'
'No, look - I'm drinking too!'

15 = 2[d4]+4[d4]+4[d4]+3[d4]+2[d6]

8 = 2[d4]+1[d4]+3[d4]+2

Is his int high?

(50/50 | 8[d10]) Yes.

d6?

(50/50 | 10[d10]) Yes, and...

A bonus. Is it high?

(50/50 | 9[d10]) Yes.

5 = 2[d2]+3

27 = 4[d4]+4[d4]+2[d4]+4[d6]+5+3[d6]+5

Okay, he doesn't drink. Nice idea, though ... <_<

17 = 1[d4]+4[d4]+1[d4]+7[d8]+1+2+1

20 = 3[d4]+1[d4]+1[d4]+8[d8]+1+2+2[d6]+2

Is his per high?

(50/50 | 8[d10]) Yes.

d6?

(50/50 | 9[d10]) Yes.

Does he still have his bonus?

(Unlikely | 4[d10]) No.

17 = 2[d4]+4[d4]+4[d4]+3[d6]+4[d6]

21 = 3[d4]+1[d4]+4[d4]+8[d8]+1+2+2[d4]

12 = 1[d4]+1[d4]+3[d4]+1+6[d12]

(10 = 6[d20]+4) Minor Injury: Largely superficial; painful and distracting, but not life threatening.

14 = 4[d4]+3[d4]+1[d4]+2[d8]+1+2+1

22 = 4[d4]+3[d4]+3[d4]+3[d8]+1+2+4[d6]+2

14 = 2[d4]+2[d4]+1[d4]+5[d6]+4[d6]

14 = 1[d4]+2[d4]+2[d4]+2[d8]+1+2+2[d4]+2

11 = 2[d4]+1[d4]+4[d4]+1+3[d12]

Will give only one bonus now for winning the staggering vs perception contest.

(20 = 19[d20]+1) Critical Injury: Requires immediate attention; clearly life-threatening if not immediately deadly.

1 = 1[d2]

2 = 2[d2]

1st: Legsweep
2nd: Kick - 'ED HIS BUTT!!!
(I was lucky though. -_-)

Good we're at a medical station though!

17 = 4[d4]+1[d4]+3[d4]+6[d6]+3[d4]

+ a high bonus for using the sick bed and all?

(Sure Thing | 10[d10]) Yes, and...

Another one on top!

5 = 2[d2]+3

5 = 2[d2]+3

So ... now we won - what happens?

Adversity / Legal matters.

The AI?

(50/50 | 9[d10]) Yes.

Because we kinda 'cheated'?

(Somewhat Likely | 5[d10]) Yes, but...

We did what she asked us to do. -_-
(How was that a good thing for her though?)

Inquire / Emotions.

We ask her how she feels about all this.

Communicate / Rumour.

She's glad somebody cares and tels us something she heard about:

Oppose / Weather.

'Brace yourselves against the storm that is coming!'

Guide / Disruption.

Who?

Restless .

'For the restless will be led to shake the very foundations of our lives!'

Praise / Portals.

'Praised be the gates!'

Excitement / A plot.

'Something wonderful will happen!'

Take / Prison.

Does she take the cryssie a prisoner now?

(50/50 | 4[d10]) No. +Event: Dominate / Jealously

She's a bit jealous I fought him so well - I thank her most humbly.

Violate / Rumour.

She's apparently finished with that mysterious prophesy.

Praise / Military.

'Only this I have to add', she says: 'All will be thrown into the depth of the deepest prison-dungeons - and the gods of war will arise!'

Anything else?

(50/50 | 2[d10]) No.

Okay, we leave her and help the people on the generation ship repair their improbability drive.

We also try to get the plans for that orbital-balance device from the Empire.

(50/50 | 1[d10]) No, and...

4 = 1[d2]+3

'Don't even ask!'

A big malus it shall be, then -

8 = 4[d4]+4[d4]+1[d4]+2[d6]+1[d4]-4

Okay - didn't make it. What a petty. -_-

But we managed to get the plans for that singularity-energy device.
We hand them over to the guys on the generation ship and they use it to proceed on their lives long journex through space.

(Whatever was that with the 'ionized fleet' though - was it the Empire?

(50/50 | 8[d10]) Yes. +Event: Gratify / Energy
Reply
#19
They thank us for their new energy source.

THE END

*end credits and music*

(forgot that last time -_-)

XPs?

4 = 4[d5]

1 = 1[d5]

Was Monkey-Monk with us last time?

(50/50 | 4[d10]) No.

K, 4 for me then and 1 for the kid.

And now it's time for a new episode of ...

浮遊要塞 - エピソード10
('The Floating Fortress' - Part 10)

The setting is bandit ordinance depot involving cheap holo-recorder and allied flagship. Your quest is to bring a murderer to trial at the fortified factory. Trying to stop you is the arachnid queen skilled in pickpocketing. You are currently at the aquatic colony ship.

Setting is syndicate research lab involving old holo-recorder and rogue production plant.

Revolting expert who is as strong as you and whose motivation is to promote justice, develop cowardice, and relate discretion; who speaks of scheming history and is focused on your recent scene.

Purchase the high quality plasma cutter at the gas giant matrix.

Impatient Robot .

Syndicate armada.

(Was toxic planet)

Arachnid warrior.

Power cells.

(was some kind of 'Mrsshan')

The old depot again?

(Very Likely | 9[d10]) Yes. +Event: Intolerance / Lies

The same factory?

(Very Likely | 10[d10]) Yes, and...

Same aquatic colony?

(Very Likely | 9[d10]) Yes.

Maybe it would be more interesting to bring that mafia murderer to trial - at the mafia ship?

(Very Likely | 7[d10]) Yes.

Maybe we just found out we've been working for the mafia - and didn't like being lied to, though.

So - is the murderer the cyber ninja?

(50/50 | 1[d10]) No, and...

She's the one who wants to see him punished? (We should bring him to the biotope though!)

(50/50 | 5[d10]) No, but...

Good idea. Also - kid judge should be the judge! (After all, that's his job)
Wait - isn't the 'Floating Fortress' some kind of judical court?
Plus: Being a fortress, it's somewhat fortified too! ôô

So the murderer is at the fortified factory?

(Somewhat Likely | 9[d10]) Yes.

Do we know him?

(50/50 | 1[d10]) No, and...

'You never will, shall and should!' Okay. <_<

So the psi guilt depot, the mafia factory and depot.
Why did the mafia storm the psi guild's depot though - and why didn't they use their powers?
Answer is: We don't know. It's just a cheap anime show from the eighties. Duh!

So ... what about that holo recorder?

Failure / Nature.

Maybe it will be important later ...

Let's get back to the factory then!

Postpone / Messages.

Maybe the information we get via holos is faulty and mostly reaches us too late.

So, we still think we should go back into the factory. We try to contact the cyber ninja.

9 = 1[d4]+3[d4]+3[d4]+1+1[d4]

Okay, did it - what does she say?

Judge / Fears.

Is she afraid of the trial?

(50/50 | 2[d10]) No.

She tells kid judge not to be afraid?

(Somewhat Likely | 3[d10]) No.

Is it at all about the trial?

(Likely | 8[d10]) Yes.

Who's afraid? The murderer?

(Very Likely | 7[d10]) Yes.

So she knows him. Is he an AI?

(50/50 | 6[d10]) Yes, but...

A renegade AI?

(50/50 | 2[d10]) No.

But she's no sympathy for him?

(Somewhat Likely | 2[d10]) No.

She thinks he's innocent?

(Likely | 8[d10]) Yes.

So she won't help us?

(Sure Thing | 8[d10]) Yes.

Is she still angry?

(50/50 | 1[d10]) No, and...

In fact: Now she likes us!

(Very Likely | 6[d10]) Yes.

12 = 2[d4]+1[d4]+3[d4]+4[d6]+2[d4]

We try to convince her - does she argue with us?

(50/50 | 2[d10]) No.

Okay - convinced her then. Will she take us to him?

(50/50 | 8[d10]) Yes. +Event: Negligence / Plans

Nonetheless - we talk to her for a while and forget about our plans - does he try to get away while we chat?

(Very Likely | 9[d10]) Yes.

Oh, oh - now he's not there anymore - my oh my. DO we know where he went?

(50/50 | 5[d10]) No, but...

He left a trace?

(Likely | 8[d10]) Yes.

12 = 2[d4]+4[d4]+1[d4]+1[d6]+4[d4]

So - where does us lead that to? (successfully used the computer to find out)

Carry / The mundane.

Is it inside an android now?

(Somewhat Likely | 3[d10]) No. +Event: Struggle / Lies

8 = 2[d4]+2[d4]+2[d4]+1[d4]+1[d4]

We didn't find out if she might have lied to us.

Inside a drop ship?

(50/50 | 10[d10]) Yes, and...

He already flew away.

(Very Likely | 10[d10]) Yes, and...

Quite a while ago.

(Likely | 10[d10]) Yes, and...

Without a trace.

(50/50 | 7[d10]) Yes.

We record a holo message and send it to the guys who sent us here.

Let's go and get that plasma cutter then. Off to that gas giant - is it itself inside the matrix?

(50/50 | 1[d10]) No, and...

It's not very near either.

(50/50 | 3[d10]) No.

Is it the drop ship itself?

(50/50 | 9[d10]) Yes.

Is it here?

(50/50 | 2[d10]) No.

Do we know the AI's inside the drop ship?

(Somewhat Unlikely | 8[d10]) Yes.

Why did we have to buy that plasma cutter again?

Neglect / Attention.

We didn't pay attention -_- (I was drunk again, right?)

(Very Likely | 10[d10]) Yes, and...

Vengeance / Intrigues.

It was a trap anyhow?

(50/50 | 2[d10]) No.

We want to have our revenge because they messed with us?

(50/50 | 7[d10]) Yes.

So we just go back to the mafia headquarter and say we didn't find him?

(50/50 | 5[d10]) No, but...

We could pretend to look for him at all the wrong places.

(50/50 | 9[d10]) Yes.

Blame it on the old holo recorder?

(Somewhat Likely | 6[d10]) Yes.

K - let's go places then: I want to have a drink!

Collective core.

And of course of all the places it had to be the Replicant's mothership? Where the queen lives?

(50/50 | 5[d10]) No, but...

That's the name of the bar?

(Somewhat Likely | 2[d10]) No.

Unimatrix zero?

(50/50 | 6[d10]) Yes, but...

Spy / Competition.

Maybe some Casablanca like multi - species space hub, full with spies?

(Somewhat Likely | 3[d10]) No.

Boring. >_>

So the Replicant queen send out her spies to find the AI's wehereabouts?

(50/50 | 9[d10]) Yes.

('meanwhile ...') Why is she interested in that AI's whereabouts?

Change / Enemies.

She wants to fight the Empire?

(50/50 | 10[d10]) Yes, and...

the mafia?

(50/50 | 7[d10]) Yes.

So - what happens at the bar? Is it the one at the sensor array again?

(50/50 | 6[d10]) Yes, but...

The other guy's not here this time?

(50/50 | 8[d10]) Yes. +Event: Extravagance / Suffering

'The mother of all hangovers'

(Sure Thing | 8[d10]) Yes.

What now?

Oppress / Evil.

I try not to throw up?

(50/50 | 1[d10]) No, and...

I actually _do_ throw up. Is the mafia messing with that venue?

(50/50 | 6[d10]) Yes, but...

That's not the point - they do that everywhere. They're the mafia! Maybe Imperials at the bar?

(50/50 | 3[d10]) No.

But bad people?

(50/50 | 2[d10]) No.

We should go and opress evil?

(Somewhat Likely | 10[d10]) Yes, and...

*oppress

Like - now?

(Somewhat Likely | 5[d10]) Yes, but...

Let's get sober first ...

(Very Likely | 5[d10]) Yes, but...

Not too sober - ('drunken monkey' style)

(Sure Thing | 7[d10]) Yes.

Soo ... where to now?

Decrease / Energy.

Take it slow ... playing for time ...

(50/50 | 8[d10]) Yes.

Teach the mongreloid at the battle-scarred artificial planet.

We get back to - the AI's planet?

(Sure Thing | 9[d10]) Yes.

And teach him some mad skills!

Me and the Monkey-Monk teach him ... err ... sober fighting.

(Sure Thing | 9[d10]) Yes.

Mechanized network.

Like some kind of trains? Maglevs?

(50/50 | 10[d10]) Yes, and...

It's automated.

(Sure Thing | 8[d10]) Yes.

Yeah, let's go and ride a train!

Frozen wormhole.

'Seightseeing'

Ethereal dreadnaught.

Maybe a stargate at one of their poles - very scenic though.

Fight / A project.

We should become professional fighters?

(50/50 | 2[d10]) No.

A school for Kung Fu?

(50/50 | 7[d10]) Yes.

We learn mad new skills from some wise and ancient master?

(Sure Thing | 7[d10]) Yes.

That might take a while.

Is he the ethereal dreadnought?

(50/50 | 5[d10]) No, but...

We saw one.

(Sure Thing | 10[d10]) Yes, and...

It was amazing!! 00

(Sure Thing | 10[d10]) Yes, and...

Very ethereal!

(Sure Thing | 8[d10]) Yes.

K, so much for today - end of part one of episode 9 of 'The Floating Fortress'!

(Note to self: raise the Martial Arts skills and maybe learn a new technique!)

Haven't had time to play for a while and this has been my 'saved' status for a while now. As I had a couple new ideas I would like to try out here I just post is so it doesn't get deleted when I start a new game.

Mor 'Floating Fortress' coming soon, though.

Time for some 'Floating Fortress' again! ^_^ Let's see if it can top this: 'The setting is insectoid maelstrom involving very high quality jetpack and crystal necropolis. Your quest is to negotiate with the vat-grown at the temporal flux research outpost. Trying to stop you is the seeker droid skilled in astronomy. You are currently at the andromeda medical station.'

The setting is armored ancient ruins involving excellent jetpack and technologically advanced artificial planet. Your quest is to evade bounty hunters at the occupied asteroid belt. Trying to stop you is the insectoid soldier skilled in street fighting. You are currently at the mysterious gate.

Setting is blockaded vortex involving cheap plans and superb solar cells.

Sinful crook who is as strong as you and whose motivation is to publicize alcohol, assist intelligence, and interact gluttony; who speaks of friendly compromise and is focused on your skills.

Blackmail the vat-grown Human Resource Manager at the ionized battleship.

Eager Chemical Technician.

Demilitarized factory.

Reptilian mercenary.

Above average blaster carbine.

Exo-geology.

Okay, that's all pretty straight-forward.
The 'mysterious gate' though - what is it all about?

Soo ... I cleaned up my stats sheet a bit and guess what - I already spent way too many skill points.
(That's what you get from 'yeah, I'll do that later')
Now I could take the easy road and make her a standards 'hero' but I think the system is a bit monty haulin' in respect to attribute points which makes the whole thing a bit too unrealistic for my tastes. As I'm also a friend of more diverse skill systems I'll think of a house rule here.
I think it wouldn't be too unrealistic to think this new house-rule would include that you would get a few more skill points to distribute so I think I'm all good here.
Just shouldn't spend any more points on skills - that's all.

Also I decided that I used the house rule about using dice instead of fixed values for skills and attributes for a reason
(That reason being that there always would be a chance of rolling less than 9, no matter how slim)
So instead of skill bonuses for specializations you get to roll the next higher dice for that skill specialization.
